Open Studios 2019

Jan 19, 2020 | Linocut, Photography, Uncategorized

I wasn’t sure what would happen or if I should do it, but I did it and had a great time!

I’m talking about Warwickshire Open Studios!!!

This experience started with vaguely knowing one person and ended up spending two weeks with friends.  People have asked did you sell much, yes I did sell some photographs, books, cards and linoprints but also gained so much more.

I’ve spoken to so many people on all sorts of topics, learnt new skills, bounced ideas off my fellow exhibitors, worked as a team and all-in-all thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I’ve exhibited handmade books and linocut prints for the first time alongside my photography.  The most common comment has been ‘wow, I didn’t know you could do this’!  Thank you to everyone who came along and supported me.

What’s the next step? I think I need to plunge into the world of Etsy, revamp my website to include all my different endeavours and begin the adventure.

I feel I have come out of my shell and am starting a fresh chapter in my life, I’m not just a mum, I’m Kay and I’m liking being Kay.

A surprise at the end – Deborah presented me with this footstool I’d been admiring all week, cursing the person who had bought it. It was my parents!!!! My birthday present.
